Hi, I'm Jaq. ◡̈

I love photographing queers in love:

with themselves

with each other

with family, friends, pets

with their art

with their work

with their community

I am primarily a portrait and event photographer, which means I thrive in environments where my job is to see and capture (and sometimes subtly direct) elusive & striking moments of emotion, expression, artistry, and connection.

I take bookings for weddings and engagements (I especially love shooting weddings!), but I understand the throughline in my work — queers in love — to be more expansive than a traditional wedding photographer. I am committed to helping my clients see themselves as they wish to be seen, in relation to the people and projects that matter most to them, whether that is celebrating romantic connection or making art on their own.

And with 15+ years of experience behind the lens, I am well-equipped to coax out moments of true comfort from even the most camera-shy of clients!

I currently only offer digital photography.

I am a nonbinary dyke and I use they/them pronouns. I live in Oakland, CA with two small dogs who are the center of my world. ❤︎₊ ⊹
